Victoria Tifft, President and CEO of Clinical Research Management, was recently selected as a Top Ten Woman Business Owner of Northeast Ohio for 2010 by The National Association of Women Business Owners of Cleveland (NAWBO). The NAWBO honors women business owners who have demonstrated excellence as a woman business owner, through initiative and creativity, professional accomplishments, contributions, and community involvement. Victoria was nominated by Kristi Kubiak of First Merit Bank in Hinckley. Victoria served our country in the U.S. Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa in the field of infectious disease control. While there, she experienced first-hand the devastating conditions that people of third world countries endure. She contracted malaria several times and came back to the U.S. with a strong motivation and commitment to spend her life working towards the goal of providing treatments for diseases around the globe. Thus, Clinical Research Management (CRM) was born. Sachin Mani, Ph.D. RAC Joins CRM
Sachin Mani, Ph.D., RAC has joined CRM as a Program Manager and the Regulatory Section head. In addition to his primary role of overseeing CRM’s research support services contracts at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, he is also involved in biomedical leadership, business diversification / development and strategic planning initiatives at CRM. He has extensive biomedical R&D, project/program management and regulatory experience. Prior to joining CRM, Sachin was a group leader at MedImmune LLC, a subsidiary of AstraZeneca, where he successfully led two viral vaccine development programs – a) the Madin Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) vaccine cell substrate characterization program, the chosen cell substrate for MedImmune’s cell culture-based pandemic and seasonal influenza vaccine & b) a bioanalytical assay development program for developing analytical immunoassays for pediatric respiratory viral vaccines. During his tenure at MedImmune, Sachin was also involved in managing preclinical animal studies for respiratory viral vaccines with particular reference to regulatory safety issues. Prior to MedImmune, Sachin was a principal investigator at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, where he was instrumental in developing animal model systems for infectious disease pathogens and biological toxins; and in biomarker discovery using genomic and proteomic profiling. Sachin received his Ph.D. in Microbiology (Immunology) at Clemson University. He has authored several publications in the fields of viral vaccine development, infectious disease, immunology and animal model development.

Clinical Research Management, Inc. has joined the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) as an Associate Member. CRM is pleased to join with other members such as Covance, Kendle, MDS Pharma Services, Parexel, Pharmanet Development Group, PPD, Quintiles, RPS, Global Research Services, ICON, and PRA International. ACRO represents companies whose focus is clinical research. The Association provides an active voice for the global CRO industry, which provides specialized services that are integral to the development of drugs, biologics and medical devices. Through its member companies, ACRO helps improve the quality, efficiency and safety of biomedical research. ACRO member companies employ approximately 70,000 professionals worldwide and last year conducted more than 9,000 clinical trials involving nearly 2 million participants in 115 countries.
Jere Boyer M. Boyer, Ph.D. Accepts Position as an Editor of the Manuscript Editing Committee (MEC) for the Navy Medical Journal
Jere Boyer, Ph.D., Scientific Director of CRM will assume the position as an Editor for the Manuscript Editing Committee (MEC) of the Navy Medicine Journal (NMJ). The Manuscript Editing Committee of the Navy Medicine Journal is comprised thus far with 90 pro bono professional members from around the world. MEC members provide the actual editing of manuscripts submitted for potential publication in the new publication, "Healthcare, Science, and the Medical Humanities: The Navy Medicine Journal." The Journal is published by Navy Medicine under the new Navy Medicine Institute for the Medical Humanities and Research Leadership. NMJ will begin publishing in 2011.
Sue Chase Accepts the Position of Chief Operating Officer of CRM
